So You Think You’re Awkward in Front of the Camera? Read This.
You know the line.
“I want pictures, but I’m SO awkward in front of the camera.”
Good news: you do not have to know what to do. That’s quite literally my job.
When you book a session with Martinson Media, I’m not expecting you to show up knowing where to put your hands, how to stand, which way to turn your head, or how to somehow create that effortless laughing photo you saved on Pinterest.
I’ll help you through all of it.
You’re Not Going to Stand There and Smile for an Hour
Some of my favorite photos happen between the “actual” poses.
I want movement. Walk toward me. Fix your hair. Look over your shoulder. Spin around. Laugh at how ridiculous we probably look. If you're with your significant other, bug them a little. Whisper something in their ear. Bump into each other. Run around.
I’ll give you enough direction that you never have to wonder, “What am I supposed to do right now?” without making every photo feel stiff and posed.
Awkward Usually Means Uncomfortable
And the easiest way to fix that?
Make the session fun.
I want you to feel like you're hanging out with a friend who happens to be carrying a camera around. We’ll talk, laugh, probably get distracted, and somewhere along the way, we’ll get some pretty dang good photos.
You don't need modeling experience.
You don't need to practice poses in your mirror.
You don't even need to consider yourself photogenic.
You just need to show up.
I'll take care of the rest.
If you've been putting off senior, couple, or portrait photos because you “aren't good in front of a camera,” consider this your sign.
Come be awkward. We'll make it cute.
